International Association of
Young Diplomats (IAYD)
was founded on 15, January 1996 in
Tbilisi, Georgia.
The basic aims of Association are:
- Promotion of development of Public Diplomacy;
- Promotion of cooperation between Georgian and Foreign Youth Organizations;
- Development of relations and collaboration with Georgian and Foreign Diplomatic Corps;
- Professional improvement of young people and concern about their employment in Georgia as well as in Foreign Countries;
- Inclusion of young people in Educational, Scientific and Cultural Exchange Programs;
- Inclusion of young people in International and local Rehabilitation and Social Protection Programs;
- Promotion of Healthy Life Style in young people;
- Inclusion of young people in International and Local Ecological Programs;
- Introduction of Professional Ethic Norms;
- Evaluation within a population level of Law Awareness and Promote Law Respectfulness (especially in International Law matters);
- Foundation of legal basis for normal functioning of Public Society and Legal State;
- Promotion of conventional norms of Human Rights and Freedoms;
- Study and analysis of Political, Economical, Social and/or other conflicts and elaboration of conformable recommendations taking into account the international experience;
- Development of Youth’s Tourism.
During its existence Association established good relations with European and American young, legal
and private organizations. With our auspices was carried-out the workshop "Peaceful Caucasus" in
April 1996. We systematically lead exhibitions of Young people’s pictures on different thematic. In
summers of 1997, 1998 and 1999 we organized creative camps in Georgian curorts Gorda and
Kvereti under name "Promotion of Healthy Life Stile" where with Georgians were foreign students too.
We work intensive in the field of cultural and educational exchange. We send
Georgian young people in European countries and soon will be able to receive young people from any
country in Georgia in ranges cultural and/or educational exchange programs and so on.
We receive interesting offers from foreign businessmen who want to place investments for development
of Georgian agricultural, medical, touristical infrastructure. We provide them informational, legal and
other helps and sometimes take place in realization of their programs. Our organization received grants
from different foundations such as: “Fridrich Ebert”, “Horizont”, “OSGF”, “Eurasia Foundation” and
others. With their support was possible to carry-out summer-camps, training courses for young
peoples, guest seminars, preparation of informational booklets etc. We feel systematical help from
Georgian banks, firms and private organizations and funds which we receive from them we use for
implementation of our goals and for a charitable purpose.
